I honestly didn't think I could find another international diplomatic story more bizarrely funny than the Qadaffi - Swiss one below but lo-and-behold I found one. Apparently, German Chancellor (essentially President of Germany), Angela Merkel, has a fear of dogs owing to a severe bite as a child. Vladimir Putin supposedly took advantage of this fear by once presenting the terrified Merkel with a dog as a present and insisting that his labrador sit in on meetings with Merkel. Bizzare mind-f**k he was playing with Merkel but then again, isn't that what you would expect from a former KGB man?

Wowww.. that's a pretty messed up thing to do, even for politics. In that picture there you can totally see from his smug expression that he was quite pleased with himself. Jerk.
