Iko Toilets in Kenya

Something I've learned since coming to London: LSE is a socialist school. In fact, Europe in general is pretty darn socialist while England tends to be a bit less so. But in LSE and particularly within my department, socialism is pretty highly regarded. If you dare say that any good is possible to come from neoliberal economic policies you are a sinner who has no hope of redemption. Our two texts on capitalist market-based approaches to development came from David Harvey who is the world's leading neo-marxist and Deepak Lal who is so far to the right is has advocated for complete laissez-faire and a return to colonialism. So...it is up to me to, on my own, look for examples of how privatization can - not in all cases, but certainly in some - be beneficial.
